Our Amazing Team

David Armstrong

David Armstrong co-founded M-DAT in 2000 and is now the Executive Director. Previously he served as short-term mission coordinator at OC International, now known as One Challenge. David, his wife Mary, and their family also spent 15 years in Colombia and Guatemala as field missionaries with One Challenge. The Armstrongs have three grown children and seven grandchildren. David served on the Board of the Standards of Excellence in Short-Term Mission for 12 years after its inception.

Janel Breitenstein

Janel Breitenstein is the editor of our newly launched blog on long-term missions, GoServeLove.net. She joins us after 5.5 years in Uganda, East Africa, with Engineering Ministries International.

She and her husband still serve at EMI’s headquarters in Colorado Springs, CO. The Breitensteins have four children.

Rebecca Skinner

Rebecca Skinner provides the marketing and advertising arm for M-DAT. She is always looking for new ways to get the word out and fund our various websites and newsletters all geared towards helping people take the next step in missions. Rebecca grew up in central and South America and holds a degree in Children and Family Studies from John Brown University. Her previous work experience includes time at the Association of Christian Schools International, Kids Hope United and Simplified Living Solutions. She and her family live in St. Louis where she helps coordinate Perspectives classes in the South County area.

Jonathan Zilkie

Jonathan Zilkie is the bookkeeper for M-DAT. He has a heart for missions and has been to Mexico multiple times on mission trips with his church.

He also enjoys being an active part of his church and youth group.
