Urbana 2009 Report
M-DAT's time at Urbana 2009 was fruitful on every front.
• Together, M-DAT staffers Peter and David Armstrong and Paul Nielsen interacted with hundreds of students, listened to what God is doing in their lives and helped connect them with organizations and resources to help them along in the process.
• Many people mentioned they had visited ShortTermMissions.com or AskaMissionary.com and found the sites helpful.
• It was a good chance to connect with 23 of the organizations listed on ShortTermMissions.com as well as to introduce new organizations to the service. Two organizations are seriously looking at posting their opportunities.
• Thirty-two people expressed interest in working with M-DAT. As Peter and David follow up, pray that God would provide 2 full-time staff from among these contacts and that God would help us as we seek to discern what He is doing in their lives and direct them to where they can best plug in.
• Urbana09 was the first time we've had a display and literature representing all four of M-DAT's services. The new backdrop worked well with the bound stack of cards we handed out to attendees. It was not uncommon to hear people say "That's exactly what I was looking for!" The display and the cards will be useful in the future as well.
